Q: Will my Physios Online Physiotherapist tell me if I need to see a real Physio, or a doctor?

Absolutely. While there are many injuries that can be self managed with a home program, some conditions do require physical assessment and treatment. All of the Physiotherapists at Physios Online have worked in private practice, and are skilled at detecting when an injury requires further investigation.

Q: How can a Physio diagnose my injury if they haven’t even touched me?

All Physiotherapy appointments start with a "subjective assessment", in which the Physiotherapist will ask you a well-structured series of questions designed to discover what they need to know about your injury (without touching you). By the end of the subjective assessment, every good Physio should already have a very clear idea of your probable diagnosis. The Physio may then perform some tests to conform this diagnosis. If Physios Online has any further queries about your injury once we have reviewed your assessment, we may prompt you to answer further questions, or perform certain movements, and provide us with feedback regarding these. This should clarify diagnosis. If we are ever unsure of your diagnosis, we will refer you to an "in rooms" Physio.

Q: What about Physiotherapy treatment? How can Physios Online treat my injury without touching me?

Most people's traditional view of Physiotherapy is that it involves "hands on" treatment. In reality, this is only a small portion of what we do to assist with injury management. Identifying contributing factors from your lifestyle, posture and sport, as well as instigating a structured and tailored exercise program, are two of the most important things Physiotherapists do. Over the last 5 to 10 years, Physiotherapy has been following research evidence leading injury management away from electronic machines and repeated sessions of manual therapy, and towards rehabilitation programs that you participate in and follow. This puts you in much more control of your own recovery.

Naturally, if we feel you have an injury that requires "hands on" Physiotherapy, we will let you know!

Q: You have given me exercises to do, but I'm not sure if I’m doing them right!

The wonders of modern technology open up a whole world of possibility. With your Comprehensive Injury Analysis, you receive a free follow up email consultation. You could attach a photo or video of yourself doing the exercise/s, or even organise for us to check them via your webcam in real time!

All the exercise descriptions are very clear and illustrated by photo or video, so often this makes things very clear.

Q: What payment methods are available?

We use the Paypal system for payments. Credit card payments through Paypal clear instantly, meaning we can get started on your Comprehensive Injury Analysis straight away. Please understand that we cannot commence work on your Analysis until these payments are cleared. Your Analysis will be ready within 2 business days of receipt of your payment.

Q: Do I need any specific operating system or browser to view my Comprehensive Injury Analysis?

If you can see this page, you will be able to log in and see your Analysis. If there are any difficulties, we will work with you until they are resolved.

Q: Will you provide a refund if you deem that my problem is not suitable for a Comprehensive Injury Analysis?

Absolutely. If we determine that your injury or situation is not at all suitable for a Comprehensive Injury Analysis by a Physiotherapist, we will let you know, and refund the cost of the Analysis. Having said that, most Musculoskeletal Injuries stand to benefit from opinion, education and advice.
If you are unsure whether your injury is suitable for a Comprehensive Injury Analysis or not, send us a free Quick Question, and we will let you know!
